We invite you to read about Stephanie’s Journey with us.

“I’ve had weight issues all of my life.

I’ve done the yo-yo dieting and sporadically worked-out on my own but nothing ever lasted. In my mid-thirties I started having some minor health issues and decided I was finally at the point where I needed to make a change.  Extreme dieting never worked for me so I started with small changes to my diet and found an exercise program I actually enjoyed and wanted to stick with.

My journey actually started with kickboxing.  And as I saw the weight steadily continue to come off, it gave me more incentive and motivation to keep with it.  As with many things I started to get a little bored with the repetitiveness of the kickboxing class, and a friend introduced me to CrossFit, so I decided to give it a try.  I don’t consider myself a naturally athletic person so I thought it was HARD!  But I enjoyed the versatility that each workout provided and I have never felt bored. I prefer exercising in a group environment as it motivates me to strive to do better, be better, faster, stronger. I like the competition (and camaraderie) it provides with others and within yourself.

I also love the strength training aspect. Weight lifting was never something I was comfortable doing on my own [so now] I love that I feel strong! It’s not just the physical strength, but the mental strength CrossFit workouts provide as well.

Exercise has become a regular part of my life that I can’t live without now. It is such a stress reliever… it just feels wrong not to do it on a regular basis. It took me around 2 years to lose 130lbs and I have kept that off for the past 1.5 years now.

I am also the most fit and strongest I have ever been.

I may always consider myself a bit of food addict and that is something that will always be a personal struggle for me, but now I am a CrossFit addict as well and it feels awesome!”
